What this is

NECwire performs reference arithmetic from published code tables (NEC Chapter 9 Tables 1, 4, 5, 8 and 9; Tables 310.16, 310.15(B)(1)(1), 310.15(C)(1), 314.16(A) and (B), 430.248 and 430.250; DIN VDE 0298-4 and DIN 18015-1) and from published cost surveys. Every table cell carries its edition and the source it was checked against; cells that could not be verified are marked. See the method.

Not a code book, not advice

The results do not replace the National Electrical Code, the DIN VDE standards, the authority having jurisdiction, the equipment’s listing and instructions, or a licensed electrician. Local amendments apply and can be stricter than the tables here. Cost ranges are aggregated from published national surveys and are not quotes. You use the results at your own risk; installations must be designed, performed and inspected by qualified persons under the code in force where the work is done.

Trademarks

“NEC” and “National Electrical Code” are marks of the National Fire Protection Association. DIN and VDE are marks of their respective owners. NECwire is not affiliated with, endorsed by or licensed by any of them.

Liability

The service is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, NECwire is not liable for any loss arising from use of the site.

Embedding

You may embed the calculators on your own site with the snippet provided on each tool page, keeping the credit link. Do not copy the tables and present them as your own.
